1.Who we are
The party responsible for processing your data can be reached at support@occento.com. This policy describes what data we collect, why, and what rights you have over it.
2.Data we collect
| Data | Where it comes from | What we use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-up (magic link or Google) | Authentication and communication about your account | |
| Native language | You tell us in your account | Choosing which language lessons are explained in |
| Chosen interface language | Your choice in the language switcher | Showing Occento in the language you prefer, on any device |
| Learning progress (sessions, day streak, position on the track) | Your use of the product | Showing your progress, keeping your study history |
| Weak-spot map | Your performance in lessons | Personalizing what gets reinforced for you |
3.Who we share data with
Authentication and database provider: this is where your account and usage data are stored.
Google: if you choose to sign in with Google, Google processes that authentication; we don't receive your Google password, only confirmation of your identity.
Hosting and site-analytics provider: where Occento is hosted, and who measures site usage — pages visited, the link that brought you here, country, device type, and how fast pages load. That measurement uses no cookies and stores no identifier on your device: the figures are aggregated and do not point back to you.
Customer support provider: when you write to us, through the help form or by e-mail, your message, name and e-mail are stored there so we can reply; if you're signed in, the message also carries your account number and interface language.
E-mail forwarding and anti-abuse provider: forwards the e-mails sent to our addresses and, on the help form for people who aren't signed in, checks that a person is writing.
The names of these providers are available on request through the contact in section 8.
We don't sell personal data to third parties.
4.Organizations (B2B plan)
If you use Occento through an organization (school, company) that granted you access, that organization's admin sees your e-mail (the same one they used to add you) and your performance on that organization's track exam — how many questions you answered and got right. They don't see your day streak, your overall position in the app, or your weak-spot map — that information stays only in your own account.
5.Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete the account at any time in Settings: your name, e-mail and contact details are removed right away, and you can no longer sign in. Your study history (lessons done, answers, words) stays stored without your name or e-mail. Purchase and refund records are kept for five years, as tax law requires. Backup copies stop containing your data once the provider's renewal cycle replaces them. Conversations with support are erased if you ask through the contact below.
Site usage figures (the hosting provider's measurement, in section 3) are aggregated from the moment they are collected and are not tied to your account — they are not deleted along with it, because nothing in them points to you.
6.Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data (LGPD in Brazil; GDPR in the European Union). To exercise any of these rights, use the contact below.
7.Cookies
We use a technical cookie to remember your interface language before sign-in and your theme preference (light/dark) — we don't use advertising tracking cookies.
